Hyderabad succumbs to a humiliating defeat

After decent performance in the first match, Hyderabad Ranji cricket team succumbed to a humiliating defeat against Maharastra, in the second round of the Ranji Trophy Plate League match which finished in just a day and half at the Uppal's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

After India defeated England in the first one-day international series that concluded recently and Hyderabad taking the crucial first innings lead in the first match of the new Ranji season, everyone expected that the fortunes of the host team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium have changed.

But, yesterday's defeat against Maharastra, coupled with abject surrender of the host team without putting up any fight has also raised serious doubts about Hyderabad team's preparation for the tournament and also issues that preceded the tournament in selection of team coach and team members.

We hope, many Hyderabad cricket fans who have witnessed the glorious days of Hyderabad cricket will call for a thorough investigation into the mess at the  Hyderabad Cricket Association and call for a complete overhaul of the system that exists currently. We strongly believe only some serious steps will send a strong message to all associated with this beautiful game of cricket in Hyderabad.
