JNTU-H meets MLRIT in finals

Jawarharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad team defeated Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology by 41-runs to enter the finals of the Uninor’s Aurora Premier Cricket League tournament being played at the Aurora’s Seethaiah Engineering College ground here on Monday. JNTU-H will now meet Marri Laxma Reddy Institute of Technology, who shocked title favourites Teegala Krishna Reddy Engineering College earlier in the day.

Electing to bat, JNTU-H riding on the lone half-century of the tournament so far scored by Dinesh (64 runs off just 41 balls) posted a mammoth total of 134 runs for loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Ramki (15 runs from just 4 balls) and Meghnath (26 runs from 29 balls) helped JNTU-H in setting-up an imposing total in front of SNIST.

In response, SNIST were restricted to 92 runs for loss of 8 wickets in their 15 overs. While, SNIST lacked fire power in their batting, the team was aided by some wayward bowling from JNTU-H.
