Riding on some excellent bowling from A Lalith Mohan who claimed 4 and 5 wickets in two innings and centuries from our own superstar P Akshath Reddy (112) and S A Quadri (107 not out); Hyderabad defeated Assam by an innings and 78 runs in the third round of the Ranji Trophy Plate League cricket match that concluded at Guwahati on Sunday. Hyderabad bagged 6 points (including a bonus point) by win in this encounter. This was the much needed win after the humiliating defeated Hyderabad suffered in the second round.
Batting first Assam batting line-up was dismissed for just 227 runs, A Lalith Mohan claimed 4 wickets for 70 runs, while Anwar Ahmed claimed 4 wickets for just 38 runs. In response, Hyderabad declared its innings at a total of 474 runs for loss of 6 wickets.
